Hopefully somebody can help with this. When I have the vent selector on the dash vents I get nothing out of them. The fan is blowing but nothing comes out so obviously the vents aren't opening to direct the air to them. Yes I have them open at the vents themselves. The floor and defroster blow fine. Any idea where I should check first.
That's the one thing I'm trying to avoid because the dealer isn't convenient so I would lose the car for at least a week. I was just hoping for a place to look myself first.
The vent damper is modulated by a motor. Either the linkage has slipped off or the motor is not operating. The dealer will replace it under warranty if you haven't attempted a fix yourself and given doubt as to whether the failure occurred due to something you did. They will most likely have to open the air box, perhaps remove the seats to gain access. Call them and give them a heads up that you are having problems.
