I was told by a technician from smartville that when the car is in park the transmission will select first gear. When the engine is shut off, the software releases the clutch. Makes sense so far right? I do the same thing when parking a manual gearbox car.
So if this is true, I think that the delay is a result of the car needing to depress the clutch in order for the car not to move forward when the starter is engaged. Has nothing to do with "spool up" of the cars computers, me thinks!
