Door closing problem revisited .. is Max the only one?

I am still having a intermittent problem closing Max's (08 cab) driver's door. Seems to be either heat or sunlight related. At times when using the outside handle to open the door, closing it simply causes the door to bounce open again. When that happens pulling on the inside handle allows the door to close. Have called smart USA and have a case number, but since the closest smart center is 250 miles away I will wait until a trip to CT to visit the in-laws next month to visit smart center Hartford for a look see. I know this has been mentioned in the past. But is Max the only one currently having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix?

This has nothing to do with heat or sunlight. The internal latch is not returning to the open position when you open the door. If you close it in that condition the closed (internal) latch is just bouncing off the striker on the body opening. If it happens again, look at the latch mechanism in the door, and as you look at it pull the inside lever-you will see how it is getting hung up by watching it click open. Seeing it will also make it easy to show to the dealer. It's a simple adjustment for the dealer and can happen to any car. Until then, pull the inside lever before closing to minimize banging the closed latch on the striker.
