Door won't stay open after service

I took my 2008 to a local shop on Friday for the 20,000 mile service. I didn't get the brake fluid changed but other than that they took care of everything and I was quite pleased with the work and the price.

Except - my driver's side door will no longer stay open. It used to stay open all the way and also at a halfway point, but now it closes all the way unless I physically hold it open. This is a real problem for me, since I have one nonfunctional leg that I need to sort of pick up and move in and out of the car. In the day I've had it back I've been propping the door open with my cane, but that's really inconvenient (particularly since I need the cane to stand up once I get out of the car).

Does anyone know what may have happened? Is there an easy adjustment? Or should I just take it back and have them see if they can fix it.

Thanks for any help - sheureka

Door not propping open:

Looks like there is an issue with the door check. It could be the plastic roller disintegrated or the check itself is broken. You can look at the hinge on the drivers door and then check out the passenger door and see what is different.

...Sheureka..check and compare left and right doors as Bob said...if you don't know what they look like it is a white roller mounted at the end of a shaft with the hinge assy...

I tried to put a red circle around the roller on a picture from SmartJoe. It's still hard to see the roller but it might help you find it:

I finally looked at the other door and something is definitely missing on the driver's side. Does anyone know if that piece is reversible, i.e., could I take the passenger's side stop out and put it on the driver's side? I seldom have passengers so it doesn't matter that much with that side. If it can't be switched any idea of how to get this fixed or where to get the part? TIA - sheureka
