DRL Daylight Running Lights activation

Post back here after your visit to Edison, NJ and tell us what they did and what it cost! I just bought my Passion Coupe last week and am interested in having this done.

Well, the 10,000 mile checkup came to $235. That included that pricey combination filter in the front (I think it's in the front). I thought that was a tad high but they go by what's in the book.

They couldn't activate my DRL because the person with the codes was unavailable. (maybe next time).

Nice plac though, Ray Catena Service Center. A pool table, a bunch of internet connections, 2 TVs and LOTS of junk food. Donuts and the like.

I will probably do this again once more and then start doing it myself.

Do any of you have automatic headlights? I understand that it cannot be done if you have automatics.

dbwill......I have automatic headlights on my /05 Passion diesel.

Poor man's DRL activation (if you have auto headlights and rain sensing wipers): Put a dime sized piece of black tape in the middle of the rain sensor on the outside of the windshield. Turn the lights onto "Auto" mode. You now have DRLs complete with DRTs (daylight running taillights)!

The codes are in their STAR machine. So, you scheduled the DRL activation and when you get there they "can't" do it? What's up with that? Not sure I'd give them a more than a "below average" customer satisfaction rating based on that alone.

I got it done at my dealer and they said I was the first one they had ever done. I don't know if all the dealers know what they're doing still even after more than a year.

You made an appointment for that purpose, then drove all the way from Mauch Chunk to Edison, and the tech was "unavailable"?????????? Boy I'd have been STEAMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do the auto wiper still work when you do this?

...my bride's Brabus came with DRL but they did not activated them...soooo...trip to the dealer for activation this week...
