Engine Check Light Code P064D?

I've searched the Internet for all OBD codes I can find.

I also did the smart site in England, but can not find any reference to this code anywhere.

And of course a search of this forum.

Anyone found out what this one is yet?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Chassol

It's not even on evilution's list:
Evilution - Smart Car Encyclopaedia
But its group hints to a DTC Codes - P0600-P0699 – Computer Output Circuit. If that helps?

That code originates from the port when all the modules are hooked up. It stands for ECM internal error and just needs to be cleared. Our technician sees this often and says it has something to do with the order the modules are plugged in. One module may be looking for another before its even hooked up, but long story short, he clears it and none of them have come back. Was your MIL light on for this? The smarts he has seen with this in the computer's memory did not turn on the light so if your light was on, was there another code as well?

The "check engine light" was on. When I first tried to clear it it would not clear. Then I got the bright idea to unscrew the gas cap and then put it back on, with at least, 4-5 clicks. And sure enough the check engine light when off and the code cleared.

This really surprised me as I am extremely religious about putting the gas cap on with at least 4-5 clicks or more.

Go figure - And the "check engine light" has not come on again.

Sometimes I wonder about those French gremlins.

Fantastic, another happy smart car. The dealership can remove this code from the memory next time you visit them. There is no harm having it there, but if you're like me, you want it to be "code free".

Thanks, I need to incorporate this into my signature somehow since I'm called it so often. Local customers here have started coming in to talk to "Da Man" they read about on this forum. I like it!
