3 arms

Hay guys,
My smart has the little hook in the upper right hand corner of the carpet .
This is almost impossible to hook up.
I was going to spring the S hook open a little more but it is hard plastic
with no spring to it.
It is very hard to get hooked &
when you do you have to use vice grips to get unhooked
Not good huh?

Easy, and you can use 2 hands, one for the dip stick and one to wipe it off.

More on engine cover screw. I called my dealer, who told me that new (and presumably improved) screws are expected Monday.

dwill, thanks. It's simply smart. ;) Even the cover has the adequate profile...

Used plyers

I ended up using a pair of plyers to turn the D-shaped black plastic piece in top of the key clockwise, and it did lock without breaking. I shall still be getting a replacement.

I found that if the dzus fasteners were hard to turn then the lid was not alligned right. When the lid is seated properly the fasteners work easy.

My car doesn't have the carpet hook in the upper right corner. I have an empty hole there. The cargo cover goes into the area where the clip should be. Any ideas?

I had an issue closing mine a couple times until I found that the "key" rotates 360 in the fitting. The next time I had problems with it, I lifted the cover, rotated the key 180, and then tried again, and it latched without a problem! I think it may be the key wants to be in a certain orientation when it starts? Can't hurt to try it if yours is hard to close next time you open it!
