make sure your gas gascap is tight and retry. If still on take off one of the battery cables for 5 minutes, reinstall and see if the light is off and drive

ahh thanks.... That won't mess with the low jack the dealer put on? I have two of these cars here and two more on the way... I hope that works.

You've started three threads with the same basic post. See my response to one of your other threads. It's usually a valve that needs replacing in the emissions system.

I was a bit concerned when I located this link:
Mitsubishi engine Parts > Galant,Lancer,Eclipse,Endeavor,Outlander,Evo

I don't normally go negative, but it could be worth reading to see if anything seems familiar. What do you think?

Okay, more of what I have learned:

Hello! I only have my Smart for 3 weeks and saw your posting. I don't know what this is yet, as the engine seems to be running absolutely perfectly. Perhaps it is an electronical misfire. Have you had any answers or solved your problem yet? -Lysbec

I had the same problem awhile ago, it turned out to be a switch malfunction on the secondary blower of the emmission system. The dealer fixed in about 1 hour and was aware of the problem as it has happened frequently. You should search the site as there is additional information on this problem and information on how to repair it yourself with the part needed.

I will say that the folks at the 1-800 number were extremely helpful and suggested the gas cap when this did not work told me to take it to the dealer, made a reservation at the dealer, and called me later to make sure that I made it to work.

We replaced the sensor 2,000 miles ago when the light came on and now it's on again at 6,000 miles. Has anyone had the same thing happen?
