This morning, my car didn't start. Instead, I got three horizontal bars in the display and beeping sounds. This is also described in the owners manual as a problem with the transmission, and it describes a process to reteach the transmission. But, before reading the manual, I called the roadside assistance number, and the technician there actually walked me through a process that fixed the problem. He had me put the key in and turn it to position 1. Then, with my foot on the brake, I cycled the shifter from P to R,N,D and then back upward to P. The display now read P, and the car started right up. The technician answering the phone on a late Sunday afternoon was terrific.
