I pay close attention to energy management and don't race about. I haven't seen over 29.5 mpg for months, in primarily city driving, with the top up, some A/C, typically in AUTO.

I am 'over' this car, much faster than I though possible.
That's too bad. I'm more into this car everyday. Much more than I thought possible. Ha

I know Woodland Hills pretty well and unless your down in Canoga park your in the foothills and Hills are not good in the Smart nor any other car. Is 29.5 MPG -much- better than your other vehicles under the same condition?

I cruise up the 5 from Mission Viejo to the 405 into Santa Monica everyday and its pretty flat, no doubt results in good mileage.

I usually drive a 1993 MB E320 station wagon with 215k miles. Around town I just got 19.9 mpg on my last fill-up. Given the disparity in size and weight getting only 10 mpg better in the smart is good, but nothing to brag about.

BTW I got 21mpg towing a uhaul trailer at 70 mph last month over 500 miles. And the smart gives me around 36 mpg on the hwy at 75 the last I recall.
