Gas Gauge Again

The gas guage did not read full again. Took it to the shop the first time and they reflashed the chip. It worked for a few more tank fulls. The second time it happened to my wife when I was out of town. I did not call the shop because I took it to the gas station to fill up and it went to full. It worked for a few more tank fulls and now it will not go to full again. When it did not go to full I tried to put more gas it in but the pump just clicked off. I do not pump the gas it fast anyway. Will call the shop tomorrow.

Anybody else have this gas gauge problem multiple times?

Maybe it needs a new new sending unit.

gas gauge

I got my car with top 3 blocks blank (it was full). The dealer told me if I had any problems after the first tank to call. I called told them about it , I have had it happen off and on since , now at 5K miles. Will take to dealer at 10K and let them replace the sending unit (recording each time it happens , my dealer is 137 miles away).

Sounds like something in the tank as opposed to a software issue.

It matters, at what gas station I go to. When the pump clicks off. I never top off. Sometime it full, and sometimes 7/8. No rhyme no reason.

I agree, it depends on the station and how fast the pump runs. If I go to my regular station, no problems. but twice when I tried a different station (same station both times) the gauge did not read full. When I went back to my regular station, the problem went away.

I go to the same station and fill it slowly.

This happened one time right after I got the car. Since then I have filled slowly until pump clicked off waited about 10 seconds then tried pumping one last time, clicks back off very quick. never again had that problem.
