Mostly flat here in DFW.
Moderate style of driving.
Single about 70 % of the time & with occupant 30%
Premium gasoline
Tire pressure was over inflated the 1st tank and within specs the 2nd tank.

I am NOT hypremiling or being pokey...this week has been mostly my normal driving style and I consider it lead foot, rabbit start slightly over limit on any highway and toe the mark every where in town
So for a new un broke in motor being drive fairly aggressivley I am actually astounded with the 41 MPG math..... and really confused what caused all the 22~29MPG first week reporting by you folks.... I suspect some of it is blended fuel and some just cheap low octane fuel but I have a hard time believing any of you are more lead foot then me... this car is real peppy and revs u real fast IMO

Reason: add A/C info
Just did my THIRD fill up, entered the 300+ club. 315 miles, 7.9 gallons taken. Showed .7 on the gauge. Just moved from .8 to .7. I probably could have gotten a bit more in, but I let it click and then spritz and then that is it.
This past 2 weeks, I was about 60% HW 40% City. On the highway I TRIED to keep it to 55-60. there was about 20 miles that was 65-72 or so.
I didn't run the AC even though we had 85+ degree weather round hier! GF didn't like that at all, but understands that I need to TEST things.
So, not officially 40 mpg, but arguably so. Without QUESTION if one were to do 55-60 on the HW for 300 miles, it would be 4x+.
This week it is hot as heck here in the bay area, so I am going to do a test with AC on for all the times that I need it. We'll see what happens then
I'm averaging 38mpg. Shell hi test. But if I drive conservatively I can easily get 40mpg average. I have also got 54 mpg pure highway, driving conservatively at 55-60 mpg. Going faster than that quickly drops it down to 40mpg.
I have 2600 miles on my smart and have been getting right at 37-38 mpg consistently on my daily 50 mile round trip commute with or without a/c. This week I limited my highway speed to 55 mph, tried to keep the rev <=3000 and got 41.48 mpg for the first time. Next week I will drive 60 mph and see if I can stay at or above my 40 mpg target.
228.6 miles 5.14 gal 92 octane $3.94.9 gal $20.32 for the fill this took my wife to work all week and me twice with a trip to church for one of us for good measure.
Diesel was $4.65
I love this car karl
My first fill-up netted 38.9 mpg, the second one 40.1 mpg! That's not too bad, all things considered. Now I'm trying to really baby it for the 3rd. tankful to see if I can improve even more! Little by little, I'd love to see 45 mpg overall!!
My very first fillup was today. The first 210 miles were highway driving 65-70 mph. The last 51 miles were errands around town and work. She took 6.499 gallons giving me a 40.21 mpg. We will be taking a trip up to Oklahoma this weekend to enrich the Choctaw Indians, so my next tank should also be high. This was all automatic mode. I'm not ready to start shifting, so maybe the mileage will get even better!
