My first fillup (with 93 Octane) got me 40.64 mpg.....not bad! Mixed highway/city driving. Not too easy on accelerator (as my Dad used to say, LEADFOOT!). I'm happy.

Hi Doenut nice start, Check Fuel Economy smart has a listing there where you can share your results with others and see what others are getting. You do need to register. I have kept all my fillup records there and it is nice to see graphed results on usage. well worth a look I think, enjoy.

I just filled up an hour ago.
I usually fill up every Saturday, so I'm rarely below half full.
I put 3.527 gallons in after driving 201 miles. The math works out to 56.99 MPG.
That's the best I've done so far, but I'm aware that the gas shutoff does not always happen at the same point. Even so, the mileage on this tank was terrific. No long trips. All local stuff. I HAVE been paying far more attention to slow startups from traffic lights, keeping my speed no faster than the speed limit, and I've started flipping on the AC above 50 MPH.
I've kept meticulous records, and my AVERAGE MPG is 39.59 after 3200 miles.
I have never got over 35Mpg..... Mostly short trip city driving...
and the city EPA rating for the car is....33 city so you did better than the average and still the long face. What kind of milage did your last car get?

Most - probably 90% - of my driving is commuting to and from work. My commute is 5 miles in town, 14 miles on the freeway, then 2 miles in the city. The freeway driving is rarely wide open, but also rarely stop-and-go. I can usually cruise along at 60 mph except for 2-3 place where I have to slow to around 30 for half a mile or so. There are several hills, but nothing all that bad. But it's very definitely not flat.
Through these 8 tanks I had stock air pressure in the tires. I'm now trying them at higher pressure in an attempt to eek a little more mileage out of the car.
Took the Longest trip so far for me and pulled the average down a notch to 38 mpg from new. Took I 90 to Ohio and then dropped down to Columbus. AC on the entire time had the scanguage hooked up had a blast (no adult supervision) solo trip. Got 32.9,31.3,34.7 99.9% highway let me just say I didn't hold anyone up. Headed west in MA going up Jacobs Ladder 3500rpm the scanguage was showing 37mpg the highest point east of the Rockys on 90 is on the route. Including the express train surcharge $90.65 to travel about 650 miles, not bad.

I have been dissapointed with my mileage thus far. Mostly city driving, very little freeways and I have gotten 27 mpg, 27 mpg (on extremely light foot), 28 mpg (with heavy foot), and lastly 25 mpg. This is using Chevron or Shell premium gas. I am contemplating taking in to dealer as I was hoping to get 33-37 in town. Any one else with similar issues? I see all of these posts where people are getting 38-50 in town and it is disconcerting. Thanks!
My Cabrio just turned 1000miles. Last tank was it's best at 28.3mpg. All city driving with lights, speed humps, stop signs, start, restart... No freeway. Usually drive with the top down, but being in the south - I do have to run the A/C in the afternoon (top up). I am now trying to ease up on the pedal, but Atlanta has some aggressive driving and it's hard to just putter away from a light and not feel as though the world is ready to push you aside! Dealer said it would be 1000 -1500 miles before car gets good mileage....
