9500 miles on 1/08-built passion in Northern Florida. conservative driver, 30% city driving, 70% highway. Rural area. 2 passengers. 45 mpg avg, high 58mpg, low 37.
Not a drop of premium (even the dealer pumped regular).
Fillups at Sam's Club, mostly at same pump.
Its starting to get cold out and our mileage is way done. Does using the heater or having the heated seats on impact the mileage? I wouldn't think so but I'm looking for an explanation. We have averaged 38 to 42 for the last couple of months, but our last two tanks have been 32 and 31. Tire pressure is fine, no real different drive pattern. Always use 93 octane. Have about 6000 miles on coupe. Great gas prices today - $2.41 for 93. Any ideas for what's up with the drop in mileage?
I notice the same thing. My mileage has dropped fromm about 46 MPG to 42 MPG on my 50 mile RT commute. Morning temps are inthe low 40s F. I wonder if the gas has been refromulted for winter driving
Location:Michigan
Typical terrain: Flat to rolling hills
Driving style: Sporty
Load: single drive mostly
Fuel brand and octane: Mobil 91
Clean air blend: None
Total tank fulls in the average: lots (over 12K)
Tire pressure: Same as factory recommendation
My last tank..
from full, I went 371 miles, and refilled at 0.8 gallons. sooo... 7.9 divided by 371= 46.96. not bad for a car that is said to get 33city/41hwy. this last tank was a bit of both.
I will hit 10,000 miles next week in my 5th month of ownership. I have tracked every tank since fill #1 and these cars are erratic when it comes to mpg. I've always used name brand gas and it doesn't seem to make any difference what grade I use on my 110 mile daily commute. Low was 37, high was 52.9, the average has been 42.9mpg overall. My commute is 75% freeway and 25% Chicago city surface roads. I am very pleased, just wish I understood the erratic nature of the beast.
