Gear shift lever spring question

Hi everyone .... I have a new mystery to solve. Just got my 2.0 upgrade on my 08 Passion. Love it but still drive in manual mode 95% of the time. Since the upgrade, I have noticed that when the car is completely stopped at a light/sign/intersection and then as you begin to roll, I feel a spring "twang" in the gear shift lever. Only happens from stopped to 1st. It happens again when you come to a full stop. It does not happen in any other gear change. I've kept my hand on the gear shift to verify it only happens from the stop to rolling and when you're rolling and come to a complete stop. So, the experts are in this forum. Any ideas?

My concern is that the spring will break and then????? My dealer says they greased the spring in the gear shift lever during the 10,000 mile service and upgrade; and to bring it back in for an inspection. I'd like to bring them all your good ideas to check out, as I have a long drive each way - just like alot of us far away from the smart center.

Thanks for your input and brainstorming.
