Head lamp Clip- lo beam

While changing burned out lamp, I have inadvertently lost the retaing clamp / spring. Does not appear to be a dealer item?

Any suggestions?

At this time the only way to get the spring is with with the whole head lamp assembly. And yes I think thats a little crazy.

I would try a salvage yard. Also try calling your local smart dealer as if they are like me anytime we get a vehicle in that was involved in an accident and have to replace parts we have learned to save the bits that are hard to get.

not sure exactly what it looks like but how about a paper clip? since you still have one on the other headlamp, you could (CAREFULLY) remove that one and bend the paper clip to match.

Worth a shot, but I think a paperclip is too soft a metal to hold the bulb. ?

I could be wrong, I was ONCE, thought I was wrong, but I wasn't

You might try going to a motorcycle shop. They often use those type of bulbs and probably would have some extra clips available. Lots of 'Off Road' folks might also have some.
Enjoy - Life's too short not to!

I feel for you. I've almost lost that flimsy clip, myself, when replacing one of the bulbs. I did a Google image search for H7 sping clip and there might be other vehicles that use the same or similar clip. I know the clip is easy to remove. It stays on with tension. After unclipping the bulb, squeezing the two arms together removes the pivoting end from the two pinholes it pivots in. You might pull out the other side and see if you can match it up with a clip from another car. Just be careful.

Good luck.
