I don't think any of us were lamenting a lack of a Icon telling us it was cold outside
In fact most of us in this group tend to NOT like the Nag or Nanny features... including the stupid Low Tire Pressure indicator that does not say what tire is low or the seat belt chime that WILL not shut up ...every other car I own has some button sequence to silence the Nag ....
Just wait for it... someone will post about how I should just put on my seatbelt.... all that with out stopping to consider there are uses for a vehicle where you should not have to have your belt on each time you get in and out...like rural delivery of mail or newspaper (as an example)
I was more thinking if there was a nd Ice warning Icon (like on many cars and trucks) that we might hack into the Logic turning on the Icicle/Snowflake Icon as a trigger to turn on the Heater circuit
I personally think the manual is wrong... I know smart makes cars with temp controlled Heated mirror activation...BUT I suspect like some many other features that are on smart cars in other markets, our 08 NA versions are deliberately crippled to NOT have the feature. Too many of us have heated mirrors on with Key on that I am convinced that this to be true.
Where I live, central Texas, heated mirrors are a non issue except during weird ice storms every other March April
I am probably going to defeat the circuit entirely

I am nearly convinced that the heated mirrors are hardwired thru the fuse panel to a power source....PERIOD.

Heated Mirrors
Well, add my name to the ever-growing list of heated mirrors that stay on all the time! Just checked on my break and they're heating up! Just doesn't make any sense to have heated mirrors with OAT 72 degrees!

MyMini Copper has always hot mirrors too
I checked my 2006 Mini Copper today and both of its outside mirrors were hot. It is beginning to seem like a common feature.

I think he was referring to the reduction in value of the penny due to inflation.

8/05 means May 2008.... remember they are made in Europe and the way you put month and year is different.
5/12/08 in europe is 5 december 2008, when in the USA is may 12 2008.

It's so easy: To convert Fahrenheit temperatures into Celsius: - Begin by subtracting 32 from the Fahrenheit number.
- Divide the answer by 9.
- Then multiply that answer by 5.
Here's an example: Change 95 degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius: 95 minus 32 is 63. Then, 63 divided by 9 is 7. Finally, 7 times 5 is 35 degrees Celsius.
To convert Celsius temperatures into Fahrenheit: - Begin by multiplying the Celsius temperature by 9.
- Divide the answer by 5.
- Now add 32.
Here's an example: Change 20 degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit: 20 times 9 is 180. Then 180 divided by 5 is 36. Finally, 36 plus 32 is 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mine was made in June '08, and they get hot from the time the engine is started.
