I leave my foot down, if the computer is not adaptive than I must be. Much smother now almost no porpoising and i love how it pops a little down shift to pull me over the next rise. Would buy a full manual for me. as i share with my wife this manumatic is great, having more fun with it than expected

I really enjoy the quirky little car. After 30 minutes of test drive the transmission and shifting (prefer the stick to the paddles as Roverallover suggested I might) was completely intuitive. As for living with a Tranny, I don't, thankfully. I really don't want to share my wardrobe

Same here. Getting back to my days in the Ford Pinto with the clutch. Just let your foot off the gas for a millisecond, hit the paddle and you're in the next gear. Remember to put your hand on the stick when turning a corner so you can shift mid turn. It will all come back to you. Never drove a manual before, you'll learn new skills.

You definitely need more than 5 minutes on the car to get used to it.

My advice is keep the gas about halfway down and do not let off the gas when you shift to the next higher gear.

Also follow your gear shifting instincts and do not follow the car telling you to upshift.

But Fred, do you really expect me to pretend that door wasn't wide open? And sometimes it's so right to be so wrong... ;)

Shanna: He might have a wardrobe you'd like. LMAO

Everyone's been saying that it's just a little time to get used to it. I want my car to get used to as well.

I had my first test drive. The transmission is much smoother with the manual shifts, (as long as you don't zing the engine- got mine oops'd up to 6500 and shifted) But it is managable in my eyes. 'tis fun and its easy to go between modes. Just my 2 cents worth.
