I drove off the place and put my directional and it blnked normal and then after I year a short circuit and it started blinking alot faster and that one went. Then I tried the other directional and same thing happened
You probably don't have a short circuit, but an open. There's no current getting to the bulbs hence no blown fuses and the same rapid-flashing behavior as if a bulb burned out (open circuit).
Hopefully there will be a smell or small burn that will make it easy to find where things went bad.
I seem to recall that one poster found his turn signal problems were due to a defective relay located somewhere near the fuse box. It required a dealer to correct it.
Let us know what fixed the problem. I am still betting on a fuse, I know zip about the Smart wiring, but I have rewired and repaired a lot of cars. The combination of being right and wrong is how most of us learn. I hope it is fixed soon.
The SAM control unit also communicates over:
• LIN B with the tachometer and the rain sensor/light
sensor
• LIN C with the ATA [EDW] microwave sensor and the alarm siren with inclination sensor.
The fuse and relay box is integrated in the SAM control unit.
The following relays are not accommodated on the SAM control unit:
• Left turn signal/brake light relay (K52/11)
• Right turn signal/brake light relay (K52/12)
• Secondary air injection pump relay (K64)
• Soft top opening relay (K66/1) (only cabrio)
• Soft top closing relay (K66/2) (only cabrio
So those relays are under the dash somewhere and may have gotten some water into them.
I have to wait until Saturday to take it to the dealer. No time during the week. I'll let you guys know. But now when I hit the brake the front blinkers light up. Not blinking but they just light up
