I cleaned it with meguiars soap then used their clay bar products and finally waxed it when I finished. It didn't take long at all, small is good!
I even waxed the plexiglass top. Looks great too btw
the rims clean up in seconds with Greased Lightning spray and you don't have to rinse if a hose isn't available. You can then wax them if you like but I think the Greased Lightning would remove the wax next time you clean them.
that top isn't Plexiglas. There are some chemicals that shouldn't be used on it but I wouldn't think your wax would be harmful.
If you wax the rims they are easy to clean with your soapy bucket. You will find that you will clean the fronts about 10 times before the backs even look dirty.
I worry about what I spray on the wheels for an "easy cleanup" What ever you put on your wheels will soon wind up being splattered all over the sides of the car when you drive. I have chosen not to have those wheel cleaning sprays all over the car.
Waxed my car today also... a beautiful day in San Antonio. Need to do it again in a few weeks and allow more time so I can clay bar before waxing. Nothing like a clean car. I am good for the drought... it will probably rain since I have her looking good.
...just a word of caution...greased lightning products are corrosive as hell...even the orange wheel cleaner...if it gets in contact with bare or non-protected aluminium it will accelerate the oxidation of the part...
