Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected

P00507 Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected

This code just showed up, and I have parked the car until I receive a call back from the Smart Car dealership.

So has anyone had this error code before?

Also I noticed that the fuel gauge is not reading the same after that s/w update. In the past the amount of fuel used seemed more linear reported, now I might have 95 miles on the current tank and it shows full. At 140 miles it shows 3/4 of a tank.

Just received a call back -- and was told to clear the problem - no biggie. That saved a 150 mile round trip. A few dollars saved, so that scan tool is starting to pay for it's self.

And to the fuel gauge - well - it never was linear and it is a common "issue". But with the scan tool I can get a better guess and my mpg and see how the car is running. That is real nice to have on hand.

It would be nice to see if I can get a customize a cable hookup to shorten the cable length and have the cable be directed to the right vs the left.

A good tech company speciallizing in networks could shorten that cable for you and attach a standard CAT5 to the cut-off end. They'd have the required tools and shouldn't charge too much.
I just coiled mine up under the steering wheel and Ty-wrapped it into place.
