I'm driving a '95 Mitsubishi Montero with almost 150,000 miles. Never used any cleaners until about a month ago. I used Lucas injector cleaner in two consecutive tank fulls and the engine does seem to run smoother with more pep. I plan on using about once a month.

The name branded premiums, Shell in particular, have cleaning agents in them.

My old Peugeot mechanic, among others, used to recommend a small dose of DextronII automatic transmission fluid in the gas from time-to-time. BUT NOT IN DIESELS; in that case, use Stanadyne as directed.

all motor fuels have detergents in them not just premium, it varies by brand most of the time it is a "click and clack" wallet vac item. Follow the manufactures recommendations for the safest bet most of the rest is snake oil
