Labor Times for Parts Replacement

Does anyone know where I could find labor times for body parts replacement on my 2008 Smart ForTwo Passion Convertible?

I recently got hit at work and have to replace my left fender, headlamp and splash sheild.

Anything would help!

Thanks!

...welcome to the asylum...
...it all depends...if they charge you by the hour I really don't have a clue...now if BumBlingBee does it, it will take for whatever long it takes you to go get him a beer..
...some of the guys with more experience will chime in with the right answer...

First off, don't use BumblingBee.... he has issues with his nuts... I'll leave it at that...

The real answer to your question is that it will depend on your dealer... I've dealt with 3 dealers on service and each has charged different amounts for the same service...

There is no real labor guide for the repair. By looking at the items you listed the front module is about 1 hour to remove and replace the damaged panel. The head lamp worries me as 90% of the vehicles that have head lamp damage need the radiator support bracket replaced as it breaks off where the head lamp attaches to the car. But there is no added time to replace the head lamp once the front module is off, takes about 2 minutes to R&R it.

The front wheel liner is pain but have the tech replace it while the front module is off the car and it will go easier. I would add 1.5 for the wheel liner.

Thank you all for the info...Ill stay away from Bumbling Bee and his nut problems!

Closest dealer to me is in Chandler, Az. thats bout 160 miles. Was going to use my local body shop...they dont have a database yet for the Smart car in either of their systems and even tech support and dealers couldnt help them with time line.

Figured there had to be somebody by now wrecking cars so that some labor times would come about....

Those that have done it before can take apart the front end and put it back together in an Hour. Those that need to learn need a lot more time. A dealer should be quick because they sould have done it before.

Any one have a part number for a radiator support for an '08 Cabriolet? Seems that big dogs, deer and raccoons all eat these things for breakfast!

Wdhitch should know about that core support. I think he replaced his. Baby Benz has done it before too. I haven't had the chance to go that
deep into the front end yet.

How did I ever miss this thread back in April?! Well now at least jet knows I don't drink, he's seen me not do it despite everyone around me stumbling over. The stuff he was passing around and everyone taking swigs from that bottle actually was sanitary since it was so potent it was self cleaning everytime the alcohol came in contact with it.
