Liquid or air cooled?

Does anyone know if the engine is liquid or air cooled?

Let me see, mine has a radiator in the front that has liquid in it, but air passes through it - so is it liquid or air cooled. It has a heater in the dash that has liquid passing through it, but the air blowing over the core heats me, so maybe it is air cooled. And there is a water pump on the engine in the rear, so what is that for???

IT'S LIQUID COOLED. It may be a German design, but the VW original Bugs and the 911's no longer air cooled.
