locks stopped working

i cannot lock my cabrio. it sounds like it locks, although it doesn't make the 3 beeps, but it doesn't lock the car. i'm taking it to the dealer but thought maybe someone had the same problem and it was something stupid. anyone have an answer for this?

Try shutting the back gate completely.

Or the gas lid may be ajar. Anything ajar and the car won't beep/lock.

Open and slam closed both doors, make sure cabrio top is down and latched in rear, open and slam rear hatch, make sure gas cap is closed.

thanks guys, you were all right. i called the dealer and found out if you don't get those three beeps when you lock it something is not closed properly. mine was the back.

Swish! Nothin' but net.

There's always a learning curve with something new. Beeps and headlights with the locks, gascap unlocking at the station, don't press and hold the red button.... I'm just sad you didn't look back on the forum 3 minutes after you posted!
