there is a rev-limiter, correct. revs don't closely relate to ground speed tho as ground speed is affected by many other factors as well.
when driving in manual mode, you're deciding where the shift points are - the computer will suggest the shiftpoint of optimum economy with an upward pointing or downward pointing arrow. it is just a suggestion however. the engine is capable of revving much higher than that. redline is 6-7K rpms. the power band is between 3k and 4k in my experience, purely by the seat dyno. i don't have any graphs to illustrate it or anything.
what i'm saying is, max speed is variable - two heavy adults uphill in a headwind with the A'/C on will get to redline quicker and have a different ground speed in gear than downhill, with a light passenger and a strong tailwind.
