Mobil 1 Oil Change for UNDER $50?

Just planning in advance for my 1st oil change.

I purchased 4qts of Mobil 1 0w40 and an OEM smart Oil Filter and Drain Plug Gasket. My total for all, with tax, was approximately $45.50.

I purchased my oil at an AutoZone for $6.99/qt BUT afterwards found it cheaper at Wal-Mart for $6.27/qt. AutoZone also had the Mobil 1 Oil Filters, regularly for $12.99ea, ON SALE for 2/$19.00! WHAT A DEAL!

In addition, AutoZone had the Bosch 3300 Oil Filter for only $6.49. Had I gone to AutoZone first, I probably would have gone with a different Oil Filter, but oh well......

So what's the cheapest that anyone has done their own oil change with Fully Synthetic Oil?

Just under $30. Purolator PL14612 filter from Advance Auto ($6 plus tax, less 5% military discount); Mobil 1 5W-30 from AAFES (4 x $6 per quart, non-taxed). No washer replacement required.

5 qt jug of Valvolene Synthetic 5W30 @ Walmart was 21.95 and a Bosch filter from AZ @ 6.49. Total 28.44 + tax. Next change I'll buy 2 quarts of Valvolene @6.99 and another filter, projected cost - $20.47 plus tax. Not a bad deal.

smartcar (451) oil change w-fully synthetic oil and an absolute top-of-the-line filter:

$8.80 (plus tax)

Nothing stolen, nothing "borrowed" and no subterfuge. Anyone could do the same if he REALLY wanted to. I'm not after the cheapest, I'm after the best. But I won't pay for anything "better" unless it's been borne-out by testing and documentation.

Right around $35.00 using the Mobile 1 oil filter and Mobile 1 full synthetic oil (received five quarts on sale) and a new oil plug washer...
Now please explain to me how you was able to get by with $8.80 for a complete oil change...the washer alone is $2.80 here in the states...maybe a inside "holy"connection?
Maybe we need to attend a little confession here but you did state you was "only after the best". I'm sure that was statement was tested and documented...In this country no dealer is just giving away synthetic oil that I know of...regular oil is around $2.00 per quart so $2.00 X 3.5 quarts = $7.00 and then there is the cost of a oil filter...not even taking into fact a "new" oil plug washer as recommended.
And by the way...my price of $35.00 does include sales tax at 7.5% and that was five quarts of oil!

Autozone have a sale till the 6th. 5 qt of Mobil 1 syntetic and Bosh oil filter for $29. I use OEM oil filter on the Smart and use Bosh for my other vehicles.

Hell (pardon me if we all need to go to 'confession' now), I probably paid THAT much in Sales Tax!

SO YEA, how DOES he figure only $8.80 + Tax?

Is that in some kind of foreign currency????

EVOO?

Just don't get the AMSoil thing started here if you want this thread to last (the title is "Mobil 1 Oil Change for UNDER $50").
