I forgot to mention, I run Sheffield Smarties smart car club, and a few new members have asked me about the shuddering on takeoff thing, and I have sent then to the main dealers for the clutch adjustment and all of them have come back and said it had cured it and made their cars smoother, so it is not just an isolated case, sounds as if there are quite a few smarts would benefit with the clutch relearn.

ps, just had a thought, as you guys have only just had the smart car for a year, maybe the dealers don't know themselves that the juddering can be cured with the clutch adjustment, so it might be worth mentioning if you go to get it fixed about how it is cured in Britain, as we have had smart cars for over 10 years now
