After a month of not being driven due to some surgery I had the battery was dead. I charged the battery per the book, removing the battery terminals. After the battery was fully charged and reconnected I got the 3 bars of death. I went through the shifter thing twice and the car started. I love my little car (both of them!) but not a huge fan of electronics! I am used to working on my 60's and 70's era muscle cars that aren't so picky!
The only other problem i had was the engine light comes on each and every time I add fuel to the car.
Faulty fuel filler cap? It's a closed fuel system, and if there's a leak somewhere (or you don't tighten the cap down all the way - three clicks minimum) you'll get an engine-trouble indicator.
It wouldn't crank yesterday at on point. It took two or three attempts but then it cranked and started. This morning nothing..........so, I checked and charged the battery ( it was low....i was hoping that a full charge might change something......no dice.) I tried the little maneuver described above with no change. I'm not real sure about the validity of that test. What I did find was that I had left the window down and departed the car yesterday unlocked. After a couple of unsucessfull attempt to crank the Passion I repaired the fault by locking and unlocking the car with the fob. It was an alarm issue. Its all good now.
god, these electronics really suck, they euros should stick to what they know and leave the Tech up to the USA and Japan, my car has a dead battery now and it's about 0 degrees out so I'm not messing with it until it warms up
