Mystery Eye Finally Explained (climate control)

The mysterious black "eye" at the bottom of the climate control dial is finally explained (somewhat) in the recently posted technical manual:

The interior temperature is measured by an integral interior temperature sensor located on the bottom of the heater/air conditioning operating unit.

(Tech. Manual at 105).

No more need for paranoia; smart is not watching your driving habits with that eye!

Yep, you'll find this suspiciously absent on Pures w/o AC.
