Need some advice (Re: heater)

I just bought a 2009 SMART Passion (German Specs) and love it. However, I am roasting in the car! I have the temp switch all the way to 18 Celcius but I still get hot air. What am I doing wrong? My manual is in German (great!) but the English version on line is a 2005. Followed the instructions but I still get hot air HOT. HELP!

Sounds like either the control to the heater valve or the valve itself is not functioning properly.

FYI, an on-line Scribd iPaper version of the 08 Owner's Manual is available on this page:

Maybe it helps? Good luck.

Manual or no manual, if the controls are set for just warm and hot air is expelled then there is something wrong with the system. Lever cable, Temp sensor or valving could be the culprit.
This is a long reach...and may sound silly... but check that all fuses are ok.
Perhaps the sensor defaults to hot if it is knocked out. Just a crazy idea....

At this point though, you should just let thet dealer figure it out under the warranty, but I would bet part of the control system is malfunctioning.
