Noise from Speakers Key Off

We had a popping noise coming from the speakers when the ignition switch is off. Removed number 15 fuse (15amp fuse) to radio. That stopped the noise. Using radio controls did not help.
Is there a relay that should open when the car off and the key out?
Where is it located? A wiring diagram or schematic would be helpful

It sounds to me like your radio is defective. If your car is still under warranty I suggest you take it to your dealer and have them troubleshoot the problem. The radio is not totally off even when you remove the key. Note that you can turn it "on" without the key.

Thanks We are to take it in this week now all we have to do is include the problem.

in both of my 2009 smarts the radio works fine (long time) with out any key on or in ignition. just push the ON button!!

SOMEWHERE on this site someone had THE SAME EXACT problem. I'm not a search expert so I can't be much of a help but someone here had the problem before. Hope you can find the answer, it is there.

HELP~! Speakers popping noise . . .

Very hot humid day. Speakers popping when engine turned off. Followed what Geo Post did and removed 15 fuse and popping stopped. Will contact Smart dealer for advice but live 200 kilometres from dealership. Anyone else found a solution?
