Not Enough Outside Air In cabin!
Warm, mild days bring on long leisurely drives in the country. Unlike city driving there is no need to be sealed off from the ouside environment.
Yet in our hot little cars there is no choice. Either open the windows and turn the fan up full blast or run the AC. I reject both options, as I hate the roar of the blowers while I'm at peace with the world.
With the blowers off only a trickle of air comes in to the cabin. Is it the cabin filter that blocks the air? Do we really need all that filtering? A2Jack.

The real question is are you allergic to anything????? Then pull it. The filter keeps dirt, and pollen out of the duct work into the car. Into you. Most new cars have filters now. Pull it and see if you get more air in the car.

I don't think pulling the cabin filter would do anything because that is the recirculating air inlet, so it wouldn't affect air flow unless the ventilation was in recirculation mode. Maybe you were thinking instead of pulling the pollen filter in the bonnet and seeing what effect that would have in bringing in more outside air?

I agree on the lack of air flow at low fan speeds.
I was thinking the other day about how to get the rear window to open about an inch or so (without flapping around), to allow a nice breeze in throught the side windows, through the car and out the rear window.

you can do it with a little latch.
clip the latch on the U shaped bar that is on the window, push the loop that is on the latch into the lock.

Judging from the amount of mist that gets on the rear window when driving in the rain, I'd be prudent about opening the rear hatch even a crack: exhaust gas may swirl back in the car... IMHO.
