Odometer change from miles to KM's...

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody knows how to set the LCD mileage reading back into kilometeres?

I've plugged it into the the diagnostic machine but haven't had any joy.

Any thoughts?

Kind regards,

Rex

I think my Smart is showing kilometers on the trip and odometer readout. I have only had the car of 3 weeks and the current math shows the car doing about 59 mpg on my second tank of gas. That seems high. I will confirm if the car is in Kilometer mode this weekend. If it is in km mode, how do I change the readouts to statute miles?

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I just bought a Canadian car and would like to get it to read out in miles.

Yes, I found out what was going on.
My buddies were sneaking extra gas into my Smart's gas tank.
They did that on and off for about a month.
Got to love them.
They had a good time with me.

I got them back later.
I siphoned gas out of their cars and put it in my Smart.

You gotta be kidding. SO there's no way to switch the display from km to miles?

Only things I can think of is:

1) Buy a GPS and set it for Kilometers
2) Maybe there is a way to increase the pulse/revolution sensor (encoder) that measures speed & distance.
3) Get smaller tires.

I had a chart listing the KPH and the equivilant MPH. Pain in the butt. Purhased a SCAN GAUGE and mounted it above the inside mirror. Set it to show MPH, RPM, Water Temp, and miles per gallon. I completely ignore the factory speedo and rely on the SCAN GAUGE. There is a slight delay in displaying the correct information but it is something that I can live with.

Oh yes, it is nice to be able to see the miles per gallon reading between 65 and 75 when on the freeways. DIESEL POWERED 2005 Passion coupe!!!!!!
