Oil Drain Screw and Passenger Seat-Warranty plan

I recently took delivery of my car. Wow, this car gets more attention than I could have imagined.
I changed the oil and was thinking of installing a Fumoto oil drain valve. I have used these on all of my cars - for years. The drain plug on this car has a sort of wire screen. Does anyone know what the purpose of this screen is?
The passenger seat does not recline. Is this the case with all seats, or is mine defective?
Is the cost of the Smart sponsored warranty negotiable? Has anyone been able to discount the advertised cost?

Otherwise the car experience is wonderful.

Hi Markie I would not do it on this car, most are just a bung in the pan this plug is also the pickup for the oiling system and is designed to let you clean the pickup screen when you change the oil.
hope that helps

Just checking: the passenger seatback recline lever is on the inside** that's the left side of the seat**not the right side where you might think.
