Oil filter

Expect to change oil ,for the first time,in about two weeks.Any word on replacement filters.Dealer 300 miles away, won't go back unless it needs to be towed.Sure it must be a standard filter, but which one?

I personally use a Mobil 1 M1-108, but you can use any comparable filter. Here is a thread with a list of compatible oil filters:
Where to buy oil filter?

And here is the big one:

Personally, I would not use the identical Wix 57040 or NAPA 7040 filters if anything else was available. They are ordinary paper-medium filters, and their 8psi bypass valve spring rates are way below the OE's 18psi.

I was doing some other things around the house. opened the drain and let it drain for over a hour. It dripped fpr ever. That could be the dif.

That's a bit of a stretch, but the Mobil 1 0W-40 is a very decent oil. I used it on my initial oil change at 5000 miles along with an OEM smart (Mitsubishi) filter, but I'll likely go with something different next time, at least as far as the oil is concerned.

If you put in 4 qts, it is probably over-filled. It should be just below the full mark.
