OnStar Type Antenna

I heard that the Smart cars have a system like OnStar that tracks your vehicle for maintenance. Is that true? I've looked through the manuals and haven't seen any info about it. If it's true, wouldn't there be some kind of antenna for transmission of the data?

The car has a black box that memorize the last events for few seconds, I've been told. Or you may be thinking of the add-on LoJack Car Security System for Stolen Vehicle Recovery

Don't know where you heard this but it is definitely not the case. The only on board system for tracking maintenance is the driver.
