(tried using the search, but the site is so slow (and completely off, no icons or smilies showing!) sorry.)

You can find most of the codes for Smart on the smart UK site.

my smartmobile also suffered this issue...the faulty secondary air injection solenoid (a Bosch part) tripped the check engine light at about 800 miles...

my mercedes service rep reported that the replacement solenoid has a different part number than the original part...indicating a different design...or a more precise application fit...

Farnsworth threw a CEL yesterday with 2274 miles on her... half tank, gas cap secure...starts and runs fine
calling smart center in a few minutes and see if they can deal with it today
Just adding to the count of distant owners who have less then 100% reliability
The day I picked up my car the tech and parts guy showed me the valve that seems to be crapping out in high numbers... I jokingly said they should give me one to have on hand when mine craps out ... too bad they did not take me up on it... it looks like a simple 5 min repair... of course I still need the code cleared...OH well

My smart center reports a 1-in-9 failure rate. They now stock a bunch of spares. If the piece isn't too expensive I think I will get one to change-out myself, even though it is a warranty item. The sc is 50 miles and about $12 in gas away and a half-day shot. My local AutoZone store can detect the fault code and clear it after the repair.

A quick call to my smart center has the new valve at $37. They say it is very easy to replace, and agree that many auto parts stores can clear the code once repaired. The problem is definitely known to smart, and they (the sc) think that the replacements parts are already improved pieces, as they have not had any repeat failures among the new replacements.
