If it is dark enough out and the switch is in auto, when you lock the doors or unlock them, the exterior lights will all come on for 12 seconds. If anything else is staying on, it is not right and needs to go back to the dealer.
taking the key out probably will fix my problem. i garage it, so leave the key in it. will check it out tomorrow--thanks for the tip!

as for the locking/unlocking of doors, i know my lights go on for some seconds after unlocking with key fob, even with them turned off. i think it's a convenience feature to help you get safely to your car or find your car. i wish it would also have a ring of light around the ignition, to help insert the key, but that's life. this car is quirky to me, with some luxuries it has but not others that are standard on other cars...

That is a problem

My car with the comfort package turns the lights off when you switch off the key. There is a light your way in feature I believe on all our cars that turns the headlights on when you lock the car with the key fob. I bought the comfort package to make my spouse happy and find that it is kinda neat. Would buy it again for myself.

Set the rocker switch on your interior light to "auto"

The interior lamp comes on for a period of time when you open the doors, or lock or
unlock the vehicle with the key.

It goes out
• immediately after switching off the ignition
with all doors closed,
• after 30 seconds if the doors are not
opened,
• after 15 seconds if all doors are closed,
• after 10 minutes if at least one door is open.

The rocker switch can be set to three different positions.

4 Continuous operation

Just to be on the safe side, I've read somewhere earlier that leaving the key in the ignition, even on "0", will slowly discharge the key/fob battery. Just because the fob and the car do "talk".
I don't know for sure, but won't take a chance: take the key out, all the time, even if the car should remain unlocked.
There is no choice for me for the time being: it's parked outside and locked.

my passion sometimes decides to lock the doors after I've left the car. So I wouldn't dare leave the key in the ignition.
