Please leave your money with us.

What's happened to that 24,000 miles warranty? Why did you have to spend money? Even if it's Canadian is there no compassion at all.
Does this mean if I took my smart to Canada and have issues with my smart, the Canadians will be standing there with their credit card machines in hand ready to slide?

well if you have a 2008 or newer you can take your car to any country.. no probem with the warranty.. if you have a 2008 or less and you try to leave the country with it.. they will not warranty the car.. we have been dealing with this for the past month now and spoke with MB of America and MB of canada and MB of germany.. and they all said the same thing.. so if you have a 2008 or newer Smart you can take it to any country and it will play nice with their systems and they will fix it.. due to in 2008 they relased the new smart fortwo they placed a different controle mod in the system that can be read world wide.. i am soo P'd off about this that i am about to start a press release with my company about this issue.. so i have a car that is still under warranty by smart ( i bought the 60 month or 100k ) and i can not get it fixed while i am in america.. so right now i can drive the car durring the day but its a danger with no headlights, safty systems, or turn signals..

It's just volts dood.... ;-)

I think the shop manual IS available for the 450 models? Take a look at the schematic and you can probably figure out which buss branch has a fuse/ plug-in issue or whatever.

Fix it first. THEN get expenses repaid under your " warranty" ??

just a thunk

If it's multiple items on multiple fuses while other items are unaffected, it may be something within the fuse box. If all systems are affected, the entire feed to the fuse box may be affected.

I would expect the ECU has a fail-safe: if the power goes out, you can still drive. But besides what you refer to as "accessories," what systems do you know are still working when everything else goes down?

You have one of two things that can go wrong: power or ground.
or:
It's one of two things: it's either the fuse box or it's something else.

Is there anything that happens in the car at 15 mph?
(Like my truck. At 15 mph, the doors lock automatically)
That might help you find out what is going on.

Just my 2 cents worth

On the 451s the doors lock at about 13 mph - sounds like that circuit might be somehow cross-feeding into the rest of the system. I'd look for a short or open somewhere around the lock relay...
