Sorry but without real world supporting information I'd hate for people to be frightened by this.

The reason could be that there are a ton of older/high mileage Smarts out on the roads and in time some of them need the part replaced - it gets contaminated due to seal failures or whatever. Would be good to clear up if this is a 450 thing and if the parts are different, specific details and info on occurrences before becoming alarmed this could be 'next??!!'

Of course not, I didn't say it was a non-issue if it happens on a 450 - I just said it needs more details, certainly before becoming scared about it being a big problem.
