Problem with the way headlights are aimed:

I'm new to the forum, but not to smart. My wife took delivery of her Passion in July. We were so impressed with the car that we ordered another. Currently the configuration for the second smart is a silver Brabus, but judging from the activity on this forum about the Brabus, our Brabus isn't going to happen. We have yet to hear that we've been rejected for a Brabus, but it's obvious we didn't make the cut. We're waiting for smart USA to get it's act together and tell us this so we can reconfigure. However, I digress. The reason for this post is this question: Do any of you folks have issues with the way your smart headlights are aimed? We live in rural Washington state. When driving at night every second or third oncoming driver flashes his/her brights at us. I've no problem with the way the lights are aimed, except that it's rather annoying to deal with the angst of all of those oncoming drivers. Road rage is also an issue. The vehicle of choice here is a GMC Suburban. We certainly don't need any altercations with a Suburban driver.

Nuages.

Welcome to the club! Hope to meet at some future rally! I actually had (what turned out to be) an elderly lady in a white Prius terrorize me one night all the way home from work, and I never understood why until I read on this forum about the problem with the headlights and how to adjust them! :>) OR...... perhaps she was just NUTS!!! :>)
I'm in Olympia.....where are you?

Check your headlight adjustment, But there may be another issue.

I have noticed before that when I am following a car at night I notice the bounce from the smart, either shifting or road bumps, will bounce the headlights from the bumper of the car in front of me to the roofline.
So what I beleive is happening to the oncomming trafic is they think you have Flashed your brights at them because your car bounced, So they are Flashing their lights at you to show you they do not have their brights on. The best thing to so when someone flashes their brights at you is nothing. It will just confuse things more.

Your headlights are not well adjusted because the lights bounce to the roofline of the car in front of you.

The suspension and wheelbase are what they are. I would suggest that you change your headlights so your lights are at level when you bounce, not at the roofline.
