I emailed them with the same question after I noticed the problem and have yet to receive and answer! If I get one, I'll post it. BTW, love your smart! I'm a sucker for white/black/black!

Might be for the 450's twin-plug engines (3 x 2 x $25 = $150!!!).

Here's the email I received from Pulstar
We are currently getting the Smart pulled from our Database. We will have a plug that meets the specifications for the smart's engine by the end of the year. Do you have the actual denso part number for that vehicle?
I sent them the #.

Thanks, I love my smart too! I'm really glad you posted this thread, I've been doing a lot of research online trying to find replacement plugs for our cars, so far it's a bust. These are really odd plugs. I did find a local Denso dealer, but have not had the chance too call and see if they can get the OEM plugs yet. I really want either platinums or Iridiums to replace the factory plugs.

I believe the OEM plugs were engineered for this specific engine, alone. I don't know for sure, BUT, my guess is that the OEM's ARE platinum since they are 4 point electrodes.

Chief,
I have no idea if these plugs are anything at all, but if you want to also send Enerpulse the plug info for the G&K 450 conversions (700ccc), it is NGK LKR8A.

Link to Evilution's 451 spark plug info.
Based on that, the OEM plugs are NOT the DENSO Iridium performance plugs.
