Radio defaults to always ON?

My radio seems to always be ON. I thought perhaps if it was off when I turned the key off, that the radio would stay off. Regrettably, the radio always comes on when the car comes on. Did I miss something in the manual? I have the 9 radio. I like listening to the radio, but not all the time. I'm leaving the volume down all the time instead of getting to leave it at a set volume and turning the radio on when I want it. Kind of a minor PITA.

Ooops, guess this was already covered in other threads. I swear I DID seach it, but after a couple pages of nothing that looked like a correct topic, I gave up.

So the only way to get the radio to turn off is to go to AUX before turning the car off? That's just as bad as having to leave the volume turned down. Anyone have a work around for this yet?

Apologies for repeat thread, hopefully this one can be searched and found easier?

I just went out to my passion to test it. Yes, it does work. I pressed the radio ON button with the car OFF. I turned the radio OFF. I started the car. Next I turned the radio ON. Then OFF again. Then shut OFF the car again. The radio shut off with the car. Then I turned the radio ON again with the car running, then OFF again with the car still running. The radio stayed OFF when I went to restart the car.

So it seems that if you turn the radio ON with the car OFF, the radio then changes the default to ON when the car is ON?!?! Weird. I'm not seeing the logic. Just glad I can default it to OFF.
