Yikes.
I just read the entire Radio9 manual. Apparently, the radio is designed to come on when the car starts up. Period. I could not find any instructions for turning it off.
This is really annoying me. Since I listen to the iPod a lot in the car, I will just leave it in AUX mode. That way, when the car comes on, the radio will as well, but it won't tune to a radio station.
My radio does not come on when I start the car unless the radio was on when I shut off the ignition. I am sure you have turned the radio off while the car is still running and then shut the car off, if I do this my radio will not come on when I re-start the car.
Oh my gosh, this is bad news, I rarely listen to the radio too much commercial chatter, time is better used conversing with a kid. Will just need to have it tuned to public radio.
Mine comes up in the same state it was in when the car was turned off. i.e.,
System ON or OFF
Radio, CD or AUX selected.
This is the way the Radio 10 is supposed to function - if it does not it needs to be repaired/replaced

Considering that you just spent 15 - 18K these two idiots (or is that a**holes) need to be sent to an Oldsmobile (yes I know) dealership.
There's a reason for the "off " button...... like I used to tell 'em, you have the right to remain silent, USE IT!!!! Are we so spoiled rotten that an instant on radio is worth diminishing the whole experience? I've got a '73 Corvette that HAS a radio, I just can't hear it. Ever. Both it and the smart make me grin, and strangely, for the same reason....... the drive.
I don't think we are acting "spoiled" when we want a radio to turn on when we want it on. I also don't think anybody said it was "diminishing the whole experience." One of the reasons they change the design of cars is because of the way the original buyers reacted to it. This is a poor choice as far as the user experience is concerned.
It's an annoyance to have to turn off my radio EVERY TIME I START MY CAR. It should come on when I want it on.
Only thing I can think of is that I have Lojack and maybe it's wired in there somehow and screwing things up. I know this is a strech but it's all I can come up with. I asked my oh so knowledgeable sales woman and she didn't know where the Lojack was located so I can't verify this. Does anyone else who has this problem have lojack ??
Seriously though, if this is a problem, I hope they have it sorted out by the time my 1352 rolls around into production. If not, there are worse glitches to have I suppose.
Jeez, Sixcrows, our first fight...... I wasn't even AWARE the radio actually came on at startup 'til I read this posting. So I went out and paid attention, and for sure, it does. Guess I'll have to trade even for a new Camry..... not.
