Save your money and put a big-a$$ boom box on your rear parcel shelf. Just the tire noise alone will kill the sound quality of a custom-built. I have the uprated smart system and it just doesn't cut it.

If you play the radio while you drive, then you must repeat the process.
I tried this technique and it works to change the default of the radio to OFF. When I restarted the car, turned the radio on, then turned it off, the radio stayed off. So it looks like if you forget to turn the radio OFF when you turn the car OFF, then you have to go through the "defaulting to OFF" steps again. Weird.

Radio staying on all the time won't bother me a bit. I'm a music lover and have 4 Sirius radios (1 for every vehicle I own, including my boat). Radio's in my vehicles never get turned off (that I know of)!!!

I have my radio set to AUX and have my SIRIUS sitting in the glove compartment. If the SIRIUS is "off", the radio will come on, but since it is set to AUX, nothing will play out of the speakers. So if the automatic ON functions annoys you, set the radio to AUX. I can't tell you how embarrassing it is to come out of choir practice at church, only to turn on the car and have Howard Stern flirting with a stripper while you are still chatting goodbye to your church friends. I am very concious now of whether my radio will play when the car is started. That only has to happen ONCE!

Random play function on my 2009 Passion

Does anyone know if the "random play" function on my 2009 Passion's Smart Premium sound system is limited to only shuffling one CD, or is it supposed to shuffle all 5 cd's? If so, why shuffle the songs on only one CD???

It appears it only shuffles a single CD, and it will do that forever. The only way to have it play each CD is without setting it on "random." Just another smart quirk.

Radio Problem

We had the same problem with our radio, took it to the dealership, had them try several of the smarts they had on the lot or were currently working on, found out it is NOT normal to have to turn the radio off every time you start the car. They replaced the radio which works like it suppose to now.

The shuffle is also funny. I've had quite a few times where songs repeated within a few songs... (mp3 shuffle)
