Out of curiosity, besides the 2.0 transmission update, have there been any "silent" updates or campaigns from smart that owners might want to ask for?

smart pretty much covered everything with the 2.0. I can not think of anything that has not been brought up on this msg board so most of you are all aware of.

After attending the Seattle Show & Shine last Saturday, we left Edmonds and headed over to Pike Place Market for lunch. As anyone who's ever driven in that area knows, it's like being on the hills in San Francisco.........VERY steep hills!!! I have just under 15,000 miles on my car now, and had the reflash done just prior to 10,000 miles, and my Hill Assist was absolutely working 100% on those hills Saturday! Not a single problem for me! So I'm thinking that it's probably just an isolated case with Suze's Zippy, and NOT a general problem with the upgrade that we should be getting concerned about! JMHO!!

I live in Bisbee, AZ - and spend a lot of time in first gear. If you've been here you know what I'm talking about. I haven't had any problems at all with the hills, either before or after 2.0. - sheureka

oh, you mean like Windows? another OS patch everyday!

btw - I updated my Hill Assist thread that it worked yesterday. So it may have been a fluke (a 3 day fluke) or it may be intermittent... OR - It may happen when the car has been working really hard! I did a lot of long distance, hard driving hours in my zippy. Maybe when he's tired he gets too pooped out help out on the hills.

(I know I worded that like he's got a personality, but translate that to technical speak and you get my meaning.)

That's one reason why I'm a Mac person.

And of course he has personality! If All Ball didn't have personality, he'd be just another car. Why should zippy be any different?

I can't recall from reading your threads if you did this or not, but it couldn't hurt to bring zippy in and have a technician run a diagnostic on the computer to see if there are any stored codes or faults. If everything's fine, I'd just see if the issue turns up again or becomes frequent.

just for fyi no dealer can or should flash back to 1.0 software. there are some legal reasons for the update. i was never told what or why the legal reasons were; but all '08 have to be flashed and you can not go back.
plus the way the dealer computers work is they automatically update and as far as i know you can not remove them. and every time you program a module the computer connects to MB's servers and records what was done....

Wasn't going to SAY that.....but that's certainly what I was thinking! If you press lightly on the brake pedal, it doesn't seem to activate the Hill Assist as readily as when you fully activate the pedal! This is NOT to say that Suze's problem is caused by not pushing down enough!!
