I've noticed more than a few cars have their rear hatches lower on the left side; ours was that way and it eventually caused the lower edge of the glass to rub on the upper edge of the rear panel.
It's an easy fix - open the glass hatch, loosen the upper hinge bolts on both sides, get the top of the hatch as even as possible, then re-tighten the hinge bolts.
