If you go to the Club Smart Car site in Canada, they have quite a few posts about a dealer that is installing remote starts on the 2008 smart cars, so obviously, it can be done...it's probably not any different than when you first start the car in the Park setting. If you really want it and need it, I'm pretty sure you can 'get 'r done'.. Now, as far as warranty stuff, I think that will be decided if you have any issues that the dealers suspects were caused by the addition of that device but I agree that you may have far more 'legal rights' than dealerships are wanting us to believe when they 'threaten' with the voiding warranty comments, but then I'm not an attorney, so I may not know what I'm talking about.
