I just finished the job and the car looks great!!
I did some changes to your design
I replaced the green round grate for the other model # 110850 ( flat) and bigger red reflectors #23772 ( removed the white plastic holder)


1 set of red combo reflectors Lowe's # 236772 $1.78
2 3" Green round Grate Lowe's #110850 $1.67 each
1 can of PVC cement $1.88

smart looks priceless ( mastercar)

WD-40 is probably not the best fluid to use to prevent corrosion of your Dion tubes. I am using an aircraft product called ACF-50. I use it all over the place on my aircraft. Much Much better. You can also use it for electrical items, such as relays, switches, battery terminals etc.

I picked my De Dion tube ends on one of the 5 days a week my black Brabus is parked out in front sideways across one of the parking spaces. It attracts a circle of friends all day long, so I am told by fellow associates.

Did your mod this week with Titanium Silver paint. Looks very much like my stock passion wheels. No reflectors though, I've got some red 12 vdc leds that I might wire into the center, 1 led in a chrome colored holder in the center of the atrium sounds plausible. I haven't decided whether to wire them into the brakes or turn signals though.
